My 12 year old niece has been sleeping with this stuffed animal since she was born and can't bare to let it go yet. Her mother and grandmother have heroically kept the beast alive all these years. A few years ago I asked her what animal it was and she looked at me in shock and said, "Leila, don't you know what a cow looks like?".

It is indeed quite an accomplishement that the stuffed animal (and the only thing this looks like is stuffed) is still alive :)

Oh Bessie I wish you were real. And the cow comes alive and starts screaming in agony! I said to my co-worker it's like the Velveteen Rabbit and he said, "Oh God, I hope not, cuz if that thing comes alive it will be in a hell of a lot of pain!"
